What are whole grains?

All parts of whole grains

WHOLE GRAIN = ALL PARTS OF THE GRAIN

Whole grain is only found in cereal products and means that the whole grain has been used, i.e. the bran, germ and seed white. We have been eating whole grains for 10,000 years and it is only in the last century that sifting has become common, i.e. using only the seed white and sifting out the bran and germ. It doesn't matter what form the whole grain is in, it can be anything from whole grains to finely ground flour, the important thing is that you start with the whole grain and that nothing has been sorted out.

MORE THAN JUST FIBERS

Whole grains contain fiber, but are not the same as fiber. In addition to fibre, whole grains also contain many beneficial vitamins and minerals because the whole grain is used. Sifted products, on the other hand, use only the seed portion of the grain, which means that many beneficial elements are missed. By using the whole grain, you get more nutrients such as iron, calcium, magnesium, folate (folic acid) and antioxidants such as vitamin E and phenols.
